th prices have jumped up after a good demand was seen for mustard. this year due to low harvest prices of it are expected to remain high so demand will rise on lower prices which would prompt the rates to once again go up.

the prices of most agri commodity either are in control or coming downwards due to govt's inflation control measures.

Mustard seed - US$ 725-740

the prices of mustard seed moved alongwith soybean as its meal product is fetching good price in international market creating demand for mustard seed for crushing. Also this year the harvest of mustard is less than last year so fluctuation in its prices and some speculative activity is expected this season.

the buying interest is generated at dropped prices so once again lifted up like soybean. mustard and soybean are the two biggest oilseeds crop in india so any policy with regard to edible oils impact these two the most. ceratinly the govt's inflation control measures has taken a toll on most of the commodities as all are coming down in comparision to their position's in the month of march.
