The new tea in north india has started traded in the siliguri tea auction this week . The prices varied from 300$ per quintal to 4$ per quintal.
this was the initial opening and the prices should go down with further quantitative arrivals and decline in quality.

On the other hand the much essential rains are playing havoc with the production in the tea-growing areas of north india. What it does in future remains to be seen.
