Indian Spices Prices: Cumin Seed, turmeric, Coriander

The prices for jeera (cumin seed) were almost on the same level. They have dropped down very marginally by approx. 0.25% in spot market this week.

The futures market too is vey much stable not showing any spectacular movement. The production this season is expected to be low so after the harvest period is over the prices may tend to rise. It is already indicative in the futures market which are trading well above the spot prices. The march futures are trading above the spot market by around US$ 75 pmt while may month contracts by US$ 125 and june futures are higher by US$ 140 pmt from spot market.

Coriander Seed: US$ 750-800 pmt fob Kandla / Mundra port

The prices for coriander have been dropping due to new arrivals. It has gone down by around 4.5% this week itself. The april month contract is approx. at US$ 76.7 while may futures is trading at US$ 75.4 per 100kg.
